TA 20041 : TAMIYA DS LOLA T93/00 FORD 1/20

Lola T93/00 Indy car was furnished by the Dick Simon Racing Team. This car is a superbly designed ground-effect vehicle using aerodynamic wing shaped under panels. The upper surface cowling was also given a thin wing sculpture, reminiscent of Formula One wing type cars seen several years back. Under its slippery surface is the tough monocoque chassis fabricated form carbon fiber composites and aluminum honeycomb side panels for the best possible protection for the driver. Both the front and rear suspension systems uses pushrod activated upper-rockers with inboard springs and dampers. Cars running in Indy 500 type oval tracks have different geometry settings for the left and right suspension, and also use different sized tires to compensate for the same turn oval run. The Powerplant for this highly sophisticated racer is a compact and powerful single-turbocharged 2650cc Ford XB V-8 cylinder engine. Fueled with methanol alcohol, it propels the car at more than 350km/h at its top speed on the Indy 500 oval track. 1/20 scale plastic assembly model kit. Overall length 243mm, overall width 100mm.
